Angine de Poitrine’s microtonal math rock has taken Youtube by storm. Some SID covers of their music prompted the question: can the SID actually play microtonal music? Some say "no", but we’ll prove them wrong by recreating the bassline from AdP’s song "Sarniezz" in humble Commodore 64 BASIC. We’ll learn some music theory along the way, such as what A440 and "standard tuning" mean, along with "equal temperament", 24TET, along with some C64 theory such as the differences between PAL and NTSC when it comes to SID tuning, and a lot more.
