I’ve been re-reading the 10 PRINT CHR$(205.5+RND(1)); : GOTO 10 book thanks to a suggestion from Mr. Doornbos, and this time paid more attention to the section on Truchet tiling. I wondered if it would be possible to implement these on the Commodore 64 and when I realized PETSCII essentially incorporates the original Truchet tiles, I went ahead and coded the original 30 tile patterns described in the 1704 memoir by French Domican priest Sébastien Truchet (Father Sébastian) entitled "Mémoire sur les combinaisons". We examine the 30 patterns as implemented in C64 assembly language; full code walkthrough coming in a future video.
